3M™ precision grain takes the form of tiny triangles which self-sharpen during use. Unlike tradtional grains which plough their way through the material, precision grain cuts cleanly and evenly, dramatically reducing processing time and extending service life, far beyond that of other abrasive minerals. Surface finish is also greatly improved and airborne particulates are reduced.
The exceptionally clean cutting action of Cubitron precision grain, combined with a grinding aid found on the 787C sanding discs, reduces heat build up on the workpiece. This reduces discolouration, stress cracking and work hardening.
