4043 is suitable for welding duralumin, cast and wrought alloys such as 6063,6061 6082 LM2, LM4, LM6, LM9, LM20, LM25 and LM27
if you are considering the best color match after post weld anodizing then 4043 should not be used, this filler alloy will typically turn dark gray in colour after the anodizing process.
The 4043 alloy is suitable for service temperatures above 150 Deg.F, but has lower ductility so It may be of some consideration if forming after welding is to be carried out.
4043 is a softer alloy in the form of spooled wire, typically when MIG welding feed ability may become an issue.
