What’s happening with Festool Tools in the UK?
Festool introduced a completely new I.T. system upgrade on 1st December 2025 and has since been experiencing major internal logistics problems, which is why many UK dealers are seeing little to no stock movement. The main reasons for this are:
-
Festool introduced a new internal operating system, and it isn’t functioning properly yet.
Festool UK confirmed in January 2026 that their upgrade to a new internal operating system has caused severe delays in transferring order information to their logistics team, meaning they cannot provide dispatch or delivery estimates. Customer service cannot give accurate shipping updates. This is still being resolved and is Festool UK’s top priority.
-
Festool temporarily stopped shipping from their factory in December 2025, due to a large-scale software and system change.
Festool stopped shipping items entirely in December last year while the system change was being implemented, and even by late March 2026 many orders still had no confirmed shipping date. Shipments were supposed to resume early February, but this hasn’t happened.
-
Festool’s UK-wide spare parts and accessory supply is also affected.
UK service and repair centres were also notified that Festool are unable to provide any estimated delivery dates for parts orders, confirming the issue affects the entire UK supply chain. This has led to longer lead times on the repair of Festool tools and equipment.
Summary; so why aren’t Festool delivering to the UK?
In short, a major IT / ERP system migration went wrong, causing Festool’s order, logistics, and dispatch systems to fail or work only partially. This disrupted all UK deliveries to dealers in the United Kingdom.
When will delivery timescales resume to normal levels for Festool items in the UK?
In an official letter to all UK dealer partners, from the managing director of Festool UK, on 9th March 2026, the following update was provided:
- Deliveries to the UK are improving week by week.
- The UK market will be prioritised in the coming days and weeks.
- Sincere apologies were given for the disruption.
- Although there have been daily improvements, it will still take several more weeks to return to normal performance levels.
- Festool are working intensely to improve communication so more reliable delivery information will become available.
- In the meantime, Festool are asking for patience whilst they work to stabilise operations.
- Finally, Festool thank both their UK dealers and users for their understanding and continued partnership.
As one of the UK’s leading Festool dealers, Protrade’s perspective on the current situation is shaped by our own recent experience.
On 1st December 2025, Protrade and the wider DIPT Group successfully implemented a new ERP system - an essential but complex transition that brought its own share of disruption and frustration. Having navigated this process ourselves, we fully understand and empathise with the challenges Festool are currently facing.
I.T. infrastructure upgrades are designed to enhance service levels, productivity, security, and compliance, while providing a scalable foundation for future growth. Although the initial phase often comes with inevitable teething problems, these are temporary. We are confident that once resolved, Festool will emerge stronger, with improved systems that will benefit customers and partners alike.
As one of Festool’s largest UK dealers, Protrade remains committed to supporting the brand through this period and beyond.
How does the disruption affect the UK launch of new Festool products?
Festool are launching a wide range of key products that are due to hit the UK market in 2026. These new Festool products include:
- TSC 55 KS 18V Single Battery Cordless Plunge Cut Saw
- DTSC 200 18V Cordless Delta Sander
- PSC-E 18 18V Cordless Pendulum Jigsaw
- TBX 4 and TBX 8 Tabless 18V Battery Packs
- SYS-MC 6/4 Systainer Rapid Charger
The initial delivery estimates for these new Festool power tools were set for March and April 2026. As of today, the TSC 55 KS saws and the DTSC 200 18V Delta Sander have now arrived. Current projections indicate that the remaining products are anticipated to land in April and early May 2026.
Protrade continues to accept pre‑orders across the full range. If you have already placed an order, your allocation is secured and your items will be dispatched as soon as stock becomes available. We would also like to echo Festool’s appreciation for the patience and understanding shown by our loyal customers during this period.
The positive news is that we’re finally getting there!
