Which Lamello Zeta P2 Kit is Right for You? (2026)

Which Lamello Zeta P2 Kit is Right for You? (2026)

The original Lamello Zeta specialised biscuit joiner was launched in 2010. Unlike standard biscuit jointers, the Zeta cuts a profile groove with an undercut, that allows P-System connectors, like Clamex, Tenso and Divario, to anchor into place. Designed for cabinet makers, joiners, and furniture manufacturers, the P-System is a unique joining method for furniture and woodworking, where a high-quality invisible joint is achieved, whilst assembly times are significantly reduced. In 2022, Lamello launched the battery-operated 18V Zeta P2 for cordless convenience.

Protrade offer numerous Lamello Zeta P2 Packages, and this article will help you navigate through the various options so you can determine the best bundle to suit your specific needs. It will cover:

  • Corded vs Cordless Lamello Zeta P2 – Which One Should You Choose?
  • Lamello Basic vs Pro P-System Assortment Kits – Which is Best?
  • Lamello DP Diamond vs HW Tungsten Carbide Tipped Zeta Blade?
  • Lamello Zeta P2 Packages - At a Glance

Corded vs Cordless Lamello Zeta P2 – Which One Should You Choose?

Both models deliver the same cutting power and precision. The 240V corded Zeta P2 is the more cost-effective option and perfectly suited for workshop use, providing continuous power where mains electricity is available.

If you’re looking for a 110V Lamello Zeta for UK site work, Lamello does not manufacture one. In this case, we recommend opting for the 18V cordless Zeta P2, which offers complete freedom from socket outlets and extension leads, eliminating trip hazards and potential cable damage.

Cordless is ideal for on-site installations and handling larger panels. Powered by the CAS Cordless Alliance System batteries, the Lamello 18V Zeta P2 is available as a full kit with batteries and charger or as a body-only tool. CAS battery packs are also compatible with other leading brands, including Metabo and Mafell, giving you maximum flexibility across your cordless tool range.

Lamello Basic vs Pro P-System Assortment Kits – Which is Best?

Lamello have created two assortment kits that feature various P-System connectors. Protrade have put packages together that include connector assortment kits – the perfect way to get started on your Lamello Zeta working experience and always have the various solutions to hand.

The 145321 Basic kit contains 240 P-System connectors in total: Clamex P-14 (x80), Tenso P-14 (x80), Clamex P14/10 Medius (x30), Clamex P14/10 Flexus (x30) and Bisco P-14 (x20) – supplied in a refillable Systainer stacking box.

The 145323 Pro kit is a more comprehensive set that contains 450 P-System connectors in total: Clamex P-14 (x120), Clamex P14/10 Flexus (x30), Clamex P-10 (x30), Tenso P-10 (x30), Tenso P-14 (x120), Divario P-18 (x80), Bisco P-14 (x20), Bisco P-10 (x20) – plus the Divario installation tool, drill marking gauge, Clamex P installation tool and Tenso P-14/10 preload tool – supplied in a refillable three-drawer Sortainer stacking box.

So, which Lamello Assortment P-System Connector Kit is best for you?

Go Basic Assortment Kit if you want to try out the Lamello P-System without committing to a large investment. It contains the most popular Clamex and Tenso connectors – ideal for testing which connectors suit your workflow.

Go Pro Assortment Kit if you want a more comprehensive range and a much larger quantity of connectors. As well as the popular Clamex and Tenso connectors, there is also a range of Divario accessories and detachable connectors for sliding shelves or partitions inside cabinets.

Lamello DP Diamond vs HW Tungsten Carbide Tipped Zeta Blade?

lamello zeta p2

The 240V corded Lamello Zeta P2 can be supplied with either a TCT tungsten carbide tipped blade or a DP polycrystalline diamond blade, with only a small price difference between the two. The 18V cordless Zeta P2, however, comes exclusively with the DP diamond blade as standard.

The performance gap between these blades is significant:

  • HW TCT Blade – up to 1,000 cuts
  • DP Diamond Blade – up to 10,000 cuts

At first glance, the diamond blade seems like the obvious winner, and for most applications, it is. But here’s the catch: DP blades are designed for abrasive materials such as MDF medium-density fibreboard and MFC melamine-faced chipboard. If you frequently work with natural woods like oak-faced boards or birch plywood, the TCT blade is the better choice.

Why? It comes down to cutting action:

  • DP Diamond Blade grinds through material, ideal for composites.
  • HW TCT Carbide Tipped Blade slices cleanly with sharp edges, perfect for natural timber and even tough surfaces like solid worktops.

Using a diamond blade on natural wood can overload the machine, reduce tool reliability, and shorten blade life. Worse still, a worn blade may cut undersized P-System grooves, causing connector fit issues.

Bottom line: Blade selection matters. Many professionals keep both blades on hand to cover different materials and ensure perfect results every time. This is why Protrade offers Lamello Zeta Pro+ packages, that contain both blade types.
