Surface finishing using an abrasive is a process of refining scratches. Typically, a coarse abrasive is used to aggressively remove stock with finer grades being applied to the material until a desired finish is achieved. Consequently, the more scratches that are put into the workpiece - the more scratches that will need blending out, adding significant amounts of labour and material cost. Mini abrasive mop discs only sand a narrow section of the work surface limiting rework when compared to larger diameter discs.
