Alumina Oxide gas nozzles are the most popular TIG cups, they are made from high-temperature shock-resistant alumina oxide that is injection moulded and when fired they turn pink in colour. 90% of all welding applications use alumina cups.
Ceramic nozzles provide a given amount of shielding gas coverage to the weld pool, according to their size, a smaller nozzle provides less gas coverage than a larger one.
Ceramic nozzle orifice sizes are normally denoted by a number which relates to 1/16” (1.6mm) increments, for example a No 6 nozzle would relate to 6 x 1/16” = 3/8” (9.6mm).
Parts fit direct to the Tigama 230 torch when fitted with a WP type standard collet body, they are also compatible with WP9, 20 type torches.
These smaller ceramics can also be used on WP 17,18 and 26 type torches when fitted with a short collet body, for improved access to harder to reach applications.
