Elga Cromarod 316L is a rutile flux coated AC/DC electrode (welding rod) suitable for welding low carbon, molybdenum alloyed, acid resisting austenitic 316 type grades of stainless steel. Cromarod 316L can also be used on Nb or Ti stabilised 316 stainless steels, provided that the service temperatures remain below 400 °C For 316 grades of stainless steel to be used at elevated temperatures then Cromarod 318 is recommended.

The weldability of the Cromarod 316L is excellent with an exceptionally smooth arc producing an exceptionally good weld bead appearance and low spatter. Fillet welds have a very smooth surface, a slightly concaved profile with excellent toe line blend-in and with self-releasing slag. The Cromarod 316L electrodes are fully positional up to and including 3.25 mm diameter.

Features:

The Cromarod electrodes are supplied in a metal can ensuring the highest possible protection and resistant to shocks.

The Hermetically sealed cans are airtight to prevent any moisture pick up from the environment, thus ensuring the electrodes remain protected and immediately ready to use when opened.

With the easy to open pull-tab and a plastic lid to help protect the electrodes after opening.
