TIG torch back caps are designed to securely hold the tungsten in the required position, when tightened they engage the tungsten on to the collet, collet body or gas lens for efficient power transfer.
Back cap sealing washer must be kept in good order to help prevent atmosphere ingress during the welding process.
Medium and Short back cap allows a short piece of tungsten to be fitted to the TIG torch so the torch can be used in confined spaces.
Long back cap allows a full length 150mm tungsten to be fitted to the TIG torch.
