The CK 2% Lanthanated tungsten electrodes are non-radioactive and are a good substitute for 2% Thoriated. It has similar in properties to the Gold 1.5% Lanthanated tungsten’s and are one of the best general-purpose tungsten electrodes for both Alternating Current (A/C) or Direct Current (D/C) applications. They perform well on either Inverter or transformer based constant current power sources. 2% lanthanated tungsten electrodes can handle exceptionally more amperage than 2% thoriated tungsten’s, especially where A/C frequencies are typically set at 100 or higher.
These tungsten’s are composed of 97.3% Tungsten, 1.8%-2.2% lanthanum and 0.5% other and are good for welding on materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper alloys. Nickel Alloy, Titanium, Magnesium alloys and Aluminium.
Very good arc start and arc stability, with a very low tip erosion rate.
Ideal for Medium to High amperage range.
