There is also no need to register extended warranties – we do it for you! We understand that the process can be confusing, let alone time-consuming, which is why the registration rate is as low as 20%.
For all Built On Trust power tools purchased from Protrade, we take care of the entire process and even electronically file all purchase and warranty documentation for easy recall.

As a Makita owner, you can extend the warranty to 3 years on Power Tools. 1 year warranty on Chargers, Batteries, Air tools, and Compressors.
This guarantee does not apply where:
- Repairs have been made or attempted by others.
- Repairs are required because of normal wear and tear.
- The tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained.
- Alterations have been made to the tool.
- This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

In 1985 Makita made its first power tool, a hand-operated electric plane. After years of development, Makita’s range of power tools expanded as the company obtained an electric hand-operated circular saw and drill machine in 1962. After 10 years Makita introduced their first 7.2V battery drum, with continued investment in research and development, Makita’s battery technology continued to improve, their focus was to produce batteries with higher power and operating time, shorter charging time and longer life cycle of machines.

What is the XGT Range known for?
Innovation is at the heart of what Makita does. This is why they introduced their XGT range in June 2020. Offering a combination of groundbreaking tool design and higher output batteries, the XGT range was made to provide a genuine solution for the highest demands in construction, industry, horticulture, and many other areas.
Since its inception, the XGT range has grown at a rapid rate. There are currently more than 41 XGT models in Makita’s range.
With ONE-KEY, you can increase productivity and decrease downtime by assigning tools to specific people and places for added accountability at the project level. It is also fully customisable for each individual tool. For example, you can wirelessly sync your drills and impact drivers to program custom speed and torque settings directly, no longer must you personally oversee every tool whilst in use, simply check the settings via the app.
Milwaukee’s ONE-KEY technology is currently available in M18, and there are a small number of M12 tools. However, in the future, they will be expanding ONE-KEY across a larger range of tools.
