Channel
Strut channel that we recognise today was invented in 1924 by Unistrut. A U shaped channel with return lips, strut channel can be joined, fixed to, suspended from and have other channel sections easily added to it with additional bracketry making it an incredibly versatile building system that is used by electrical contractors, heating and ventilation installers, maintenance contractors and construction companies.
Strut channel is roll formed from a single strip of pre-galvanised steel and can be purchased as plain section or feature punched slots which negate drilling the channel in order to suspend drop rods or fix through. For greater corrosion resistance hot-dipped galvanised and stainless steel channel is available. If the channel needs to be welded during installation a plain oiled finish (without any plating) can be requested.
