Carcass Screws
Carcass screws are specifically designed to provide the best possible holding strength when used in cabinet construction. The thread on many carcass screws tends to be very coarse to allow fast insertion.
The MX carcass screw has a Hi-Lo thread configuration which combines the coarse thread for fast insertion and a finer pitch thread which improves holding power by displacing less material and cutting into any remaining fibres within the board material, typically, chipboard and MDF (medium-density fibreboard). The funnel head sits totally flat on the surface when installed, allowing for easy laminating of the carcass afterwards; the underside of the funnel head is also flat by design giving greater clamping force compared to a countersunk head, making this an ideal fastener for mechanically joining carcasses and cabinets together. Black phosphate is chosen for its corrosion resistance. The range of MX screws is exclusive to Protrade.
