There are two sizes of Domino jointing machine available; the smaller unit works with domino dowels from 4mm – 10mm which is ideal for cabinet making and the larger XL domino machine uses 8mm – 14mm for larger structural joints. Festool Domino dowels are manufactured from Beech hardwood which is suitable for interior use or Sipo Mahogany which is rot and insect proof and therefore ideal for external applications. Domino dowels feature longitudinal grooves and expanding glue pockets which help to secure the fitting in the hole, due to their unique shape they are absolutely twist proof. Available in pre-cut sizes ranging from 4 x 20mm – 14 x 140mm, domino dowel rods are also available in 750mm lengths which can be cut to size.
