Recipro Saws
The forward and backward ‘reciprocating’ action of this cordless saw is where the name Recipro comes from. When a reciprocating saw is equipped with the correct blade they are capable of cutting virtually any material found on a construction site including, steel, wood, wood with nails, pipes, composites, armoured cables and more.
High capacity batteries now make cordless Recipro saws possible extending their portability on site where they are considered an invaluable tool in demolition and refurbishment projects; using batteries instead of mains power also makes this machine a must have tool on Fire and Rescue vehicles who have traditionally had to rely on generators. Choosing the correct blade for a reciprocating saw can have a dramatic affect on what the machine will cut, how straight the cut will be and how long it will take. Blades used in a recipro saw are only supported where they are inserted into the machine which causes long blades to waiver from the original cutting line although being able to bend a flexible blade along floors and walls allows flush cuts to be made adding to the versatility of the saw. Short, stiff blades offer the straightest cuts and are preferred for making 90 degree cuts in pipes and box section steel. Choose from carbide grit recip blades, TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) recip blades, Bi-metal recip blades, coarse cut wood recip blades and demolition recip blades . Protrade have a wide range of cordless recipro saws available complete with batteries and chargers or as a body only unit from brands such as Milwaukee, Metabo, Makita and Panasonic.
