Product Overview

  • 316LSi is primarily intended for welding the low carbon, molybdenum alloyed, acid resisting 316L austenitic stainless steels of similar composition.

Excellent mechanical properties and resistance to chemical corrosion, suitable for welding or surfacing stainless steels having similar chemical compositions.

316Lsi can also be used for welding 304L type steels as well as normal carbon 316 grades and Nb or Ti stabilized steels provided service temperatures do not exceed 400°C.

316LSi has enhanced silicon content which improves the fluidity of the melt pool with a minimum of spatter and porosity, this also ensures a nice and smooth weld surface.

    Standard Classifications:

    AWS A5.9: ER 316L Si

    EN 12072: G 19 12 3L Si

    Typical weld metal mechanical properties:

    Yield Strength N/mm2 > 350

    Tensile Strength N/mm2 >510

    Elongation % > 30

    Impact Strength > 47

    Welding Current:

    DC+

    Shielding Gas:

    Mixed gas Argon + >0.5-5% CO2

    Mixed gas Argon + >0.5-3% O2
