Product Overview

Manufacturer: Maxitek

  • Maxitek MX Self Drilling Metal Plasterboard Casings – metal speed plugs only, not supplied with screws. Use with any 4.5mm diameter wood screw.

Self drilling metal plasterboard casings, or metal speed plugs, often come complete with 30mm long screws with a pan head – capable of a 6mm maximum fixture thickness. For differing fixing requirements, the casings on their own can be used with the ideal screw for the required fixture thickness, and the perfect screw head.

For optimum performance, the 4.5mm screw should be driven a minimum of 24mm into the metal speed plug. Therefore a 30mm screw has a maximum fixture thickness of 6mm, a 35mm screw has a maximum fixture thickness of 11mm – simply subtract 24mm from the overall screw length to determine the maximum fixture thickness.

Casings only – not supplied with screws. The fixing can be used with any 4.5mm diameter screws for the perfect fixture thickness and screw head requirement.

Large coarse thread cuts deep into plasterboard creating a positive fix. Flat head sits flush with the plasterboard.

Three-point tip for quick insertion – no pre-drilling required in plasterboard and there is no minimum or maximum plasterboard thickness.

The fixing can be installed with a cordless drill or hand screwdriver.

The fixing can also be used in aerated blocks – 8mm diameter pilot hole is required.

Use where a lightweight fixing in plasterboard is required, such as bathroom accessories, fuse boxes, trunking, lighting, mirrors, signs and bracketry.

    Casing length: 31 mm.

The Maxitek MX speed plug casing is designed for professional use, manufactured from approximately 35% more zinc alloy material compared to other brands, ensuring a much more secure fix with greater pull-out values.

Supplied in craft boxes of 200 or bulk boxes of 5000.
