When dispensing tubes of construction grab adhesives, the objective of the task is to simply push out the contents of the tube onto the reverse of skirting boards, tiles, decorative panels, and architraves, plus other building materials. Little or no control of the bead is required, so controlling the flow of the adhesive is not essential. The Maxitek Control Flow Mastic Gun would easily perform this task, but the Maxitek Extreme Force Mastic Gun may be a better option if you’re gunning out grab adhesives on a regular basis, as the trigger thrust ratio is an impressive 24:1, requiring half the effort compared to 12:1 mastic guns, and significantly minimising any strain on the users’ hand and wrist. Like the Control Flow mastic gun, Extreme Force is suitable for larger cartridges, up to 400ml, and features a 360° swivel action barrel.
MX woodscrews are fully threaded up to 55mm in length and partially threaded thereafter. We believe this allows us the best combination of holding power on board materials and the tightest joints possible on thicker natural timbers. Finally, where the thread starts at the tip of the screw is important. A sharp point will pierce the surface of the material, but it will not pull the screw forward. The thread on a Maxitek MX woodscrew starts at the very end of the tip so it engages with the substrate almost instantly, drawing the screw in.
Using a premium lubricant alongside Maxitek MX woodscrews also has the following benefits:
- Much easier to drive in by hand or cordless screwdriver.
- Prevents screwdriver bits from slipping, thus reducing bit wear.
- More screws can be inserted per battery charge, when using cordless tools.
- Easier driving when inserting screws in confined spaces.
- Much less likely to snap.

No, Maxitek diamond blades are designed for dry or wet cutting, although we would always recommend not wetting the blade around electric power tools.
This is good for users, as they will not have to have the blade water-cooled.
In-house tests proved the Maxitek range of diamond blades outperforms most alternative brands and offers the best value to the professional user who does a lot of cutting.
Often described as a sausage pack, due to their resemblance of a large silver sausage, they are manufactured from a flexible aluminium foil skin, which contains the sealant or adhesive material within. The benefits of this new packaging clearly outweigh its former plastic casing, from the customer receiving more product to being easier to dispose of sustainably, for example:
- Sharing the same dimensions as a 310ml cartridge, a 400ml foil can hold – incredibly – approximately 35% more product for the same physical size. Compared to 600ml foil packs, the smaller 400ml are much easier to handle.
- Economical – Foil packs are often more economical to buy, meaning you get more for your money. The dispensing mechanism also ensures virtually every bit of the sealant or adhesive is used – resulting in little or no waste.
- Waste disposal – Once completely empty, a foil crushes down into a very compact slug – taking up just 5% of the space of a traditional cartridge. That’s a 95% reduction in the volume of waste resulting in significant disposal cost savings.
- Ecological – If we start with the manufacturing process of a foil pack, there are immediate environmental gains to be had. The empty foil packaging starts life as one continuous flat roll, which requires a fraction of the delivery and storage space compared to traditional plastic cartridges.
Let’s remind ourselves of our endeavour to reduce plastic waste within the construction industry, gradually switching to foil packs will help reduce the alarming weekly consumption figure of two million plastic sealant and adhesive cartridges, and ultimately make strides towards reducing global plastic pollution.
